Twix Cookie Bars are layered dessert bars with a buttery shortbread crust, chewy caramel center, and smooth chocolate topping that taste like the classic candy bar.

- 1 cup salted butter, room temperature
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 6 tablespoons salted butter
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream, divided
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups milk or dark chocolate
- 1/3 to 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300°F and line a 9×13-inch pan with foil and spray lightly.
- Mix butter, powdered sugar, flour, and vanilla until crumbly and press into pan.
- Bake crust for 40 minutes until lightly golden and cool.
- In a saucepan, melt butter, salt, corn syrup, sugar, and half the cream over low heat.
- Simmer without stirring until caramel reaches 235°F.
- Add remaining cream, return to temperature, then stir in vanilla.
- Pour caramel over crust and refrigerate until set.
- Melt chocolate with cream and spread over caramel.
- Refrigerate 3 to 4 hours until fully set, then slice into bars.
Notes
- Milk chocolate gives the most classic Twix flavor.
- Caramel temperature may need adjustment based on elevation.
- Let bars come to room temperature before serving for softer caramel.
