Description

These Honey Garlic Chicken Bites are juicy, tender, and coated in a sticky-sweet honey garlic sauce with a hint of savory goodness. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or as an appetizer, these bite-sized pieces are full of flavor and pair well with rice, noodles, or a side of veggies.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken:

  • 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces

  • ¼ cup cornstarch (for coating)

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp paprika

  • 2 tbsp oil (for frying)

For the Honey Garlic Sauce:

  • 3 tbsp honey

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional, for extra depth)

  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for spice)

  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water (to thicken)

For Garnish:

  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

  • 2 tbsp chopped green onions

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Chicken

  1. In a bowl, toss the chicken pieces with cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and paprika until evenly coated.

  2. Heat oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook for 6-8 minutes, flipping occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.

Step 2: Make the Honey Garlic Sauce

  1. In the same pan, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

  2. Stir in honey, soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Bring to a simmer.

  3. Mix cornstarch with water and add to the sauce, stirring continuously until it thickens slightly.

Step 3: Combine & Serve

  1. Return the cooked chicken to the pan, tossing to coat evenly in the sauce. Simmer for another 1-2 minutes until everything is well combined.

  2. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot over rice, noodles, or as an appetizer.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, double-fry the chicken by frying it once, letting it rest, then frying it again for 2-3 minutes.

  • If you prefer a thinner sauce, skip the cornstarch slurry.

  • Add a splash of sriracha or chili paste for a spicy kick.
