These Cinnamon Roll French Toast Rolls are a fun and delicious twist on both cinnamon rolls and French toast! Soft cinnamon roll dough is rolled up with a gooey cinnamon filling, then dipped in an egg batter and fried to golden perfection. Topped with a sweet glaze, they’re perfect for a weekend brunch or a special treat.

Ingredients

Scale
For the Cinnamon Roll Filling:
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated cinnamon roll dough (with icing)
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
For the French Toast Batter:
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
For Frying:
  • 2 tbsp butter (for frying)
For the Glaze:
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Prepare the Cinnamon Rolls:

    • Unroll the cinnamon roll dough and separate each roll into individual pieces.
    • Gently flatten each cinnamon roll with your hands to form a rectangular shape.
    • Spread butter evenly on each flattened roll, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
    • Roll the dough back up tightly and cut into smaller pieces (about 4-5 per roll).
  • Make the French Toast Batter:

    • In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
  • Fry the Cinnamon Roll French Toast Rolls:

    • Heat butter in a large skillet or griddle over medium heat.
    • Dip each cinnamon roll piece into the French toast batter, making sure it’s fully coated.
    • Place the dipped rolls on the hot skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.
  • Make the Glaze:

    • While the rolls are cooking, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth and combined.
  • Serve & Enjoy:

    • Once the rolls are cooked, drizzle the glaze over the top.
    • Serve warm, and enjoy these sweet, gooey bites of heaven!

Notes

  • You can also serve these with fresh fruit like strawberries or bananas for extra flavor and freshness.
  • For a thicker glaze, add more powdered sugar; for a thinner glaze, add more milk.
  • These rolls are best served immediately, but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
