Description
These strawberry cream cheese tea sandwiches are cute, creamy, and lightly sweet no-cook bites made with soft bread, strawberry cream cheese, and fresh strawberries. They are perfect for brunch, tea parties, showers, spring holidays, and quick entertaining.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 slices fresh white sandwich bread or soft bread of choice
- 12 to 14 ounces strawberry cream cheese, softened to room temperature
- 6 to 8 fresh strawberries, thinly sliced and patted dry
Instructions
- Spread one side of each slice of bread with softened strawberry cream cheese.
- Use a 3-inch heart cookie cutter to cut two hearts from each slice of bread, saving the scraps for snacking.
- Arrange thin strawberry slices over the cream cheese.
- For open-faced sandwiches, top all 12 hearts with strawberries.
- For closed sandwiches, top 6 hearts with strawberries, then place the remaining 6 hearts on top with the cream cheese side facing down.
- Serve immediately for the freshest texture.
Notes
- No cookie cutter? Use a sharp knife to trim the crusts, then cut the sandwiches into small triangles or rectangles.
- For the neatest results, pat the strawberry slices dry before adding them to the bread.
- For best texture, assemble the sandwiches right before serving.
- If needed, assemble up to 1 day ahead, wrap gently in parchment, and refrigerate in an airtight container.
- If the strawberries are very juicy, add them right before serving so the bread does not turn soggy.
- Do not freeze these sandwiches because the bread, strawberries, and cream cheese can change texture.
