Ingredients
-
1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain (450 g)
-
1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined (450 g)
-
2 tbsp soy sauce (30 ml)
-
1 tbsp cornstarch (8 g)
-
2 tbsp vegetable oil (30 ml)
-
1 bell pepper, sliced (150 g)
-
1 cup broccoli florets (100 g)
-
1 carrot, julienned (60 g)
-
3 garlic cloves, minced (9 g)
-
1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced (6 g)
-
2 green onions, chopped (15 g)
-
Salt and pepper, to taste
-
1 tsp sesame seeds, for garnish (3 g)
Instructions
-
In a bowl, whisk soy sauce and cornstarch. Toss steak and shrimp to coat. Marinate 15–20 minutes.
-
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a wok or skillet. Stir-fry steak 2–3 minutes until browned. Remove.
-
Add another tbsp oil if needed. Stir-fry shrimp 2–3 minutes until pink and opaque. Remove.
-
Stir-fry bell pepper, broccoli, and carrot for 3–4 minutes until tender-crisp.
-
Add garlic and ginger. Cook 1 minute until fragrant.
-
Return steak and shrimp to pan. Toss everything together 1–2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
-
Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
Notes
Slice steak thinly against the grain for tenderness.
Use a hot pan for best sear and flavor.
Avoid overcrowding; cook proteins separately to keep them juicy.
Add oyster sauce or hoisin for a saucier stir fry.
Works with sirloin, skirt steak, or extra veggies like mushrooms and snap peas.
