Description

Southern Salmon Croquettes are crispy, savory patties made with canned salmon, peppers, onions, and classic Southern seasoning.


Ingredients

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup yellow cornmeal
  • 15 ounces canned salmon
  • 1 red bell pepper, finely chopped
  • ½ cup sweet onion, diced
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon seasoned salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup cilantro, chopped
  • Olive oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Whisk flour and cornmeal together in a large bowl.
  2. Add salmon, bell pepper, onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, seasoning, garlic powder, mayonnaise, and cilantro.
  3. Mix until well combined.
  4. Shape mixture into 6–8 patties.
  5. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  6. Cook patties for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  7. Serve immediately.

Notes

  1. Do not overcrowd the skillet.
  2. Use cast iron for best browning.
  3. Serve hot for best texture.
