- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Combine sweet potatoes, brown sugar, butter, water, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla in a large pot.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Transfer everything to a baking dish.
- Bake for 45 minutes, basting occasionally.
- Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.
