- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup crushed buttery crackers
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley optional
- Cooking spray or olive oil for greasing the baking dish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish
- Mix sour cream cheddar cheese garlic powder onion powder paprika salt and pepper in a bowl until combined
- Spread the sour cream mixture evenly over each chicken breast
- Place coated chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish
- Mix crushed crackers and Parmesan cheese in a bowl
- Sprinkle the cracker mixture evenly over the chicken
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes
- Remove foil and bake an additional 10 to 15 minutes until chicken reaches 165°F and topping is golden
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving
Notes
- Use freshly shredded cheddar for better melting and flavor
- Cover the dish with foil during the first baking stage to prevent the topping from browning too quickly
- Substitute panko breadcrumbs for crackers if you prefer a lighter crispy topping
