- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

- 3/4 cup chocolate chips or chunks
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and melt the butter until just liquid.
- Beat the butter with both sugars until creamy, then mix in vanilla and egg briefly.
- Add flour, baking soda, and salt, mixing until crumbly, then press into a dough.
- Fold in chocolate chips, shape into balls, and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes until puffy and lightly golden, then cool on the pan.
Notes
- Do not overbake or the cookies will lose their soft texture.
- Store in an airtight container to keep them tender for days.
