Description

Thick, soft chocolate chip cookies made with melted butter and no chilling for quick baking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips or chunks

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and melt the butter until just liquid.
  2. Beat the butter with both sugars until creamy, then mix in vanilla and egg briefly.
  3. Add flour, baking soda, and salt, mixing until crumbly, then press into a dough.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips, shape into balls, and place on a baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes until puffy and lightly golden, then cool on the pan.

Notes

  1. Do not overbake or the cookies will lose their soft texture.
  2. Store in an airtight container to keep them tender for days.
