- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn)
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 3 cups mashed potatoes
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Cook ground beef in a skillet until browned and drain excess fat.
- Add onion and garlic and cook until softened.
- Stir in vegetables, tomato paste, broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Simmer until slightly thickened.
- Transfer mixture to a casserole dish.
- Spread mashed potatoes evenly over the filling.
- Dot with butter and sprinkle with cheese if using.
- Bake until golden and bubbly.
- Let rest briefly before serving.

- Use homemade mashed potatoes for better texture.
- Ground lamb can replace beef.
