Description

This quick and easy restaurant style salsa blends fire-roasted tomatoes, jalapeño, cilantro, garlic, and lime for a smooth and fresh Mexican appetizer ready in minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (15 oz) cans fire-roasted diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 red onion, roughly chopped
  • 34 cloves garlic, smashed
  • 1 jalapeño, ribs and seeds removed
  • 1 cup fresh cilantro leaves
  • juice of 2 limes
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • pinch cayenne pepper
  • large pinches kosher salt
  • large pinch fresh cracked pepper

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender or food processor
  2. Blend for about one minute until everything is well minced and combined
  3. Taste and adjust salt if needed
  4. Serve with tortilla chips

Notes

  1. Drain canned tomato juice for thicker salsa
  2. Pulse briefly for chunkier salsa texture
  3. Regular blender or food processor works fine
  4. Flavor improves after resting in refrigerator for several hours or overnight
  5. Store in refrigerator up to 5 days
