Ingredients
-
8 slices of bread
-
60 g softened butter (1/4 cup)
-
30 g grated parmesan (1/4 cup)
-
15 ml Italian seasoning (1 Tbsp)
-
5 ml garlic powder (1 tsp)
-
240 ml marinara sauce (1 cup)
-
200 g shredded mozzarella cheese (2 cups)
-
100 g pepperoni slices (1 cup)
Instructions
-
Make Seasoning Mix: In a small bowl, combine grated parmesan, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
-
Prep Bread: Butter one side of each bread slice. Sprinkle the parmesan seasoning onto the buttered sides.
-
Assemble Sandwiches: On the unbuttered side of 4 slices, spread marinara sauce. Add mozzarella cheese and pepperoni slices. Top with remaining bread, buttered side out.
-
Grill Sandwiches: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook sandwiches 5–8 minutes per side, pressing gently, until golden and melty.
-
Serve: Slice and serve hot with extra marinara for dipping.
Notes
Use sturdy bread like sourdough for best crunch.
Omit pepperoni for a vegetarian version or swap with veggies.
Add chili flakes to spice it up.
Reheat in a skillet or toaster oven to retain crispness.
Can be prepped ahead and grilled the next day.
