Description

Dark and white chocolate chips, and candy canes make these Peppermint Chocolate Chip Cookies such a perfect treat to celebrate the holidays!


Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ⅓ cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 ½ tsp vanilla
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 ½ cups flour
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¾ cup white chocolate chips
  • ¾ cup dark or regular chocolate chips
  • 5 candy canes, crushed into fine pieces

Instructions

  1. Cream butter, sugar and brown sugar for 3-4 minutes
  2. Add vanilla and egg; mix until incorporated
  3. Whisk flour, sea salt, and baking soda; fold into wet ingredients
  4. Stir in chocolate chips and candy canes
  5. Chill dough 30-60 minutes
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F; scoop dough onto baking sheet
  7. Bake 9-12 minutes until edges golden
  8. Cool cookies before serving

Notes

  1. Softened butter should be cool to touch
  2. Flour weight conversions: 1 cup = 204g
  3. Cream butter and sugar for at least 3 minutes
  4. Crush candy canes finely to prevent spreading
  5. Add 1-2 tablespoons flour if cookies spread too much
