Description

This Peach Upside-Down Cake combines buttery cake, caramelized peaches, and cinnamon flavor into a cozy homemade dessert perfect for fall gatherings and family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 tablespoons salted butter
  • 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 large peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and spray an 8×8-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. Combine butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a microwave-safe bowl and heat until melted.
  3. Spread the brown sugar mixture into the prepared baking dish and arrange peach slices evenly on top.
  4. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
  5. Beat softened butter until creamy, then mix in granulated sugar until fluffy.
  6. Add egg and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
  7. Alternate adding the flour mixture and milk into the butter mixture while mixing on low speed.
  8. Spread batter evenly over the peaches in the baking dish.
  9. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Cool the cake for 5 minutes before inverting onto a serving plate.
  11. Allow the cake to cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

  1. Use ripe fresh peaches for the best flavor and texture.
  2. Do not overmix the batter to keep the cake soft and tender.
  3. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for a richer dessert experience.
