Description

This refreshing Peach Mousse Trifle features layers of creamy peach mousse, vanilla cake, whipped cream, and fresh peaches for the perfect summer dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 small vanilla cake, baked and cooled
  • 4 fresh peaches
  • 1 tablespoon plus 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons cold water
  • 1 tablespoon plus 2 teaspoons unflavored gelatin powder
  • 4 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup for whipped cream layer
  • Extra peach slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Bake the vanilla cake and let it cool completely.
  2. Peel and chop three peaches, then blend them with lemon juice and maple syrup until smooth.
  3. Slice the remaining peach and refrigerate for layering.
  4. Combine cold water and gelatin in a bowl and let bloom for 5 minutes.
  5. Heat the gelatin briefly until liquid, then blend it into the peach puree.
  6. Refrigerate the peach puree for about 1 hour until slightly thickened.
  7. Whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form and divide it into two bowls.
  8. Fold the chilled peach puree into one bowl to create the mousse.
  9. Mix one tablespoon maple syrup into the second whipped cream bowl.
  10. Cut the cake into cubes or rounds for serving glasses.
  11. Layer cake, peach mousse, whipped cream, and peach slices in serving glasses.
  12. Chill the trifles for at least 3 hours before serving.

Notes

  1. Fresh peaches provide the best flavor and texture.
  2. Frozen peaches can work if thawed and drained well.
  3. Maple syrup adds a rich buttery sweetness.
  4. Use whipped coconut cream for a dairy-free version.
  5. Chill thoroughly before serving for the best texture.
