Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and orange zest in a bowl.
- Cut cold butter into the mixture until coarse crumbs form.
- Whisk egg, sour cream, heavy cream, and vanilla extract together.
- Mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients until just combined.
- Shape dough into a one inch thick circle and cut into eight wedges.
- Place wedges on baking sheet and brush tops with heavy cream.
- Bake for 15 to 16 minutes until golden brown.
- Whisk melted butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, orange juice, and orange zest together for glaze.
- Drizzle glaze over slightly cooled scones before serving.
