Description

One-pot mac and Cheese is a simple, creamy, and cheesy comfort food that’s made with minimal effort. With everything cooked in one pot, it’s perfect for busy nights and delivers rich, gooey flavor without the mess of multiple dishes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups dry elbow macaroni

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 2 ½ cups whole milk

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Optional: 1 tsp of mustard powder or garlic powder for extra flavor

  • Optional: Other cheese options like mozzarella, gouda, or Monterey Jack

Instructions

  • Place the macaroni, milk, and butter in a large pot.

  • Turn the heat to medium and stir often to prevent the milk from burning.

  • Let the mixture simmer for 10–12 minutes, stirring frequently until the pasta is soft.

  • If the mixture gets too thick, add a splash of milk.

  • Lower the heat and slowly stir in the cheese, allowing it to melt completely.

  • Add salt and pepper to taste.

  • Serve warm and enjoy your creamy, cheesy one-pot mac and cheese!

Notes

Use fresh cheese (not pre-shredded) for the best melting.

Feel free to mix in vegetables or protein, such as chicken or spinach, to make it a full meal.

If the sauce is too thick, simply add a bit more milk to adjust the consistency.
