Ingredients
For the blondies:
-
2 cups all-purpose flour
-
1 tsp baking powder
-
½ tsp salt
-
1 cup butter, softened
-
¼ cup granulated sugar
-
1 cup dark brown sugar
-
2 large eggs
-
1½ tsp vanilla extract
-
½ tsp ground cinnamon
For the apple filling:
-
2 large apples, finely chopped
-
2 tbsp brown sugar
-
1 tbsp butter
-
½ tsp vanilla extract
-
½ tsp ground cinnamon
For the maple glaze:
-
2 tbsp butter
-
¼ cup pure maple syrup
-
½ cup powdered sugar
-
¼ tsp vanilla extract
-
⅛ tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 11×7 inch baking pan with foil or grease well.
-
Make the apple filling: In a saucepan, cook apples with brown sugar, butter, vanilla, and cinnamon over medium-low heat for 3–4 minutes. Set aside to cool.
-
Make the blondie base: Cream the butter until light. Add granulated and brown sugar; beat until fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla and salt.
-
In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and cinnamon. Gradually stir into the wet ingredients.
-
Spread half the batter into the prepared pan. Layer with apple filling, then top with remaining batter. Spread evenly.
-
Bake 25–30 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool 10 minutes.
-
Prepare the glaze: Melt butter, maple syrup, vanilla, and cinnamon in a small saucepan. Remove from heat and whisk in powdered sugar until smooth. Let cool 8–10 minutes to thicken.
-
Drizzle glaze over warm blondies. Let it set before slicing.
Notes
Use firm apples like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith for best texture.
Let the glaze cool slightly before drizzling for ideal consistency.
For cleaner slices, refrigerate blondies for 15 minutes before cutting.
Store glazed blondies chilled for optimal freshness.
