Description

Maple Frosted Apple Blondies are a cozy fall dessert dream—dense, chewy, and bursting with cinnamon, brown sugar, and juicy apples. Topped with a rich maple glaze that sets into a sweet crackle, these easy blondies are perfect for holiday parties, weekend baking, or any time you crave autumn in dessert form.

Ingredients

Scale

Blondies:

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/2 cup apple butter

  • 1 medium apple, peeled and finely diced (about 1 cup)

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

Maple Frosting:

  • 3/4 cup pure maple syrup

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter

  • 2 tbsp cream or milk

  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar, sifted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease or line a 9×9-inch baking pan.

  2. In a bowl, mix melted butter and brown sugar until smooth.

  3. Beat in egg, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.

  4. Fold in apple butter and diced apple.

  5. Stir in flour until just combined—do not overmix.

  6. Spread batter evenly in pan and bake for 30 minutes or until set.

  7. Cool completely in the pan before frosting.

Make the Maple Frosting:

  1. In a saucepan, boil maple syrup for 5 minutes until reduced to about 1/2 cup.

  2. Remove from heat; stir in butter and cream until melted.

  3. Whisk in powdered sugar until smooth.

  4. Quickly pour and spread frosting over cooled blondies.

  5. Let frosting set before slicing into squares.

Notes

Apple butter adds moisture and deep flavor—recommended over applesauce.

Dice apples small for even baking.

Frosting sets quickly, so have everything ready before pouring.

Store blondies in an airtight container at room temp for 3 days or refrigerate up to 5.

Double the recipe for a crowd—use a 9×13 pan and bake slightly longer.
