Description

Levain Bakery chocolate chip crush cookies with a thick center, rich flavor, and the classic walnut crunch.


Ingredients

Scale

1 cup Cold Butter, cut into small cubes

1 cup Brown Sugar

1/2 cup Sugar

2 Eggs

1 1/2 cups Cake Flour

1 1/2 cups Flour

1 teaspoon Cornstarch

3/4 teaspoon Baking Soda

3/4 teaspoon Salt

2 cups Chocolate Chips

2 cups Walnuts, roughly chopped


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 410 degrees.

2. Cream together cold cubed butter, brown sugar, and sugar for 4 minutes.

3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

4. Stir in flours, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt until just combined.

5. Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts.

6. Form large dough balls and place 4 per baking sheet.

7. Bake 9–12 minutes until golden on top.

8. Let cookies rest 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

You can substitute all-purpose flour for cake flour.

Levain Bakery does not use vanilla, but you may add 1 teaspoon with the eggs.
