Description

Honey Gochujang Chicken is a quick, spicy-sweet Korean-inspired dish made with tender chicken thighs coated in a glossy gochujang and honey sauce. Ready in under 30 minutes, it’s the perfect weeknight meal—bold, comforting, and versatile enough to serve with rice, noodles, or lettuce wraps.

Ingredients

Scale
  • lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-size pieces

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 inch fresh ginger, grated

  • ¼ cup gochujang (Korean chili paste)

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp honey

  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds, for garnish

  • 2 tbsp chopped green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Whisk the sauce: In a bowl, mix gochujang, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil until smooth.

  2. Sear the chicken: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken in a single layer and cook 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown.

  3. Add the sauce: Reduce heat to medium-low. Pour the sauce into the skillet, stirring to coat the chicken.

  4. Simmer & thicken: Cook for 5–7 minutes until the sauce is glossy and fully coats the chicken.

  5. Taste & adjust: Add extra honey for sweetness or extra gochujang for heat.

  6. Serve: Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve over rice, noodles, or wrapped in lettuce.

Notes

Chicken breasts can be used but watch cooking time to prevent drying.

Adjust spice level depending on your gochujang’s heat.

Double the sauce for meal prep—it’s great over veggies or eggs.

Use a wide skillet for better browning and caramelization.
