Description

Honey Garlic Shrimp Bowls feature tender shrimp coated in a sweet garlic soy glaze served over rice with fresh vegetables for a quick and satisfying meal.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce or tamari
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger grated
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cups cooked white rice brown rice or quinoa
  • 1 cup broccoli florets steamed or sautéed
  • 1/4 cup green onions sliced
  • Sesame seeds optional
  • Crushed red pepper flakes optional

Instructions

  1. Whisk together honey soy sauce garlic and ginger in a small bowl
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook shrimp 2 to 3 minutes per side until pink
  3. Pour sauce into skillet and cook until slightly thickened coating the shrimp
  4. Steam or sauté broccoli until tender and bright green
  5. Add rice or quinoa to bowls top with shrimp and broccoli and spoon sauce over
  6. Garnish with green onions sesame seeds or red pepper flakes

Notes

  1. Use tamari instead of soy sauce for a gluten free version
  2. Do not overcook shrimp to keep them tender
  3. Add vegetables like carrots edamame or bell peppers for variation
