Ingredients
Scale
- 32 ounces frozen precooked meatballs, beef, turkey, or chicken
- 1/2 cup hot sauce
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon prepared yellow mustard
- Minced fresh parsley for garnish, optional
Instructions
- Add the frozen precooked meatballs to the insert of a 3- to 6-quart slow cooker.
- Add the hot sauce, honey, packed brown sugar, and yellow mustard to a medium bowl.
- Whisk the sauce ingredients until smooth and thoroughly combined.
- Pour the honey Buffalo sauce over the frozen meatballs.
- Stir gently until the sauce evenly coats every meatball.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 2 1/2 to 3 hours, stirring once or twice during cooking.
- Alternatively, cook on HIGH for about 1 hour, checking and stirring after 30 minutes.
- Confirm that the meatballs are hot throughout and the sauce looks glossy and slightly thickened.
- Switch the slow cooker to WARM and garnish with minced fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- Use only fully cooked frozen meatballs with this cooking schedule.
- Beef, turkey, and chicken meatballs all work well.
- For milder meatballs, reduce the hot sauce and add extra honey.
- For more heat, add cayenne pepper or extra hot sauce gradually.
- Stir once or twice during cooking to keep the sugary sauce from scorching near the edges.
- Serve with toothpicks for an appetizer or over rice, noodles, or mashed potatoes for dinner.
- Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
- Freeze cooled meatballs and sauce for up to 2 months.
- Nutrition values are estimated per serving and vary by meatball and sauce brands.
