Ingredients

- 1 cup warm whole milk (110°F)
- 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 3 1/2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons melted butter for brushing
Instructions
- Warm the milk and combine with yeast and sugar; let sit 5 minutes.
- Mix in melted butter and egg.
- Gradually add flour and salt; knead 8-10 minutes until smooth.
- Place dough in greased bowl; let rise 1 hour until doubled.
- Punch down and divide into 15 balls.
- Arrange in greased 9×13-inch pan; rise 30-40 minutes.
- Bake at 375°F for 18-22 minutes until golden.
- Brush with melted butter and serve warm.
Notes
- Do not overheat milk or yeast will not activate.
- Measure flour carefully to avoid dense rolls.
- Allow full rising time for soft texture.
- Cover loosely with foil if tops brown too quickly.
