Description

Soft and fluffy homemade dinner rolls made with instant yeast. These golden rolls bake up tender and buttery, perfect for holidays or weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup warm whole milk (110°F)
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 1/2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter for brushing

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk and combine with yeast and sugar; let sit 5 minutes.
  2. Mix in melted butter and egg.
  3. Gradually add flour and salt; knead 8-10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place dough in greased bowl; let rise 1 hour until doubled.
  5. Punch down and divide into 15 balls.
  6. Arrange in greased 9×13-inch pan; rise 30-40 minutes.
  7. Bake at 375°F for 18-22 minutes until golden.
  8. Brush with melted butter and serve warm.

Notes

  1. Do not overheat milk or yeast will not activate.
  2. Measure flour carefully to avoid dense rolls.
  3. Allow full rising time for soft texture.
  4. Cover loosely with foil if tops brown too quickly.
