Description
These Heart Shaped Chocolate Chip Cookies are perfect for Valentine’s Day. They bake quickly with no chill time and turn into soft, buttery cookies with rich chocolate flavor in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- ½ cup light brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1½ cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 1–2 minutes.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract and mix until just combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix just until no streaks of flour remain. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop about 2 tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing cookies 2–3 inches apart.
- Bake for 9–11 minutes, until edges are lightly golden and centers look slightly underbaked.
- Remove from the oven and immediately cut into heart shapes using a cookie cutter. Cool briefly, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter about 3.5 inches wide for best results.
- Room temperature butter and eggs help create a smooth, even dough.
- Measure flour accurately to avoid dry cookies.
- Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
