- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp chili powder (optional)
- 2 cups pasta, cooked slightly under al dente
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet until no longer pink.
- Add diced onion and garlic; cook until softened.
- Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and seasonings; let simmer 5–7 minutes.
- Cook pasta until slightly underdone and drain well.
- Layer pasta in a casserole dish, top with beef mixture, then spread sour cream.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top.
- Bake at 350°F for 25–30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
Notes
- Let the casserole rest 5 minutes before slicing.
- Use ground turkey for a lighter version.
