Description

A hearty, comforting ground beef casserole layered with pasta, rich tomato sauce, and melted cheddar cheese for an easy weeknight family dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp chili powder (optional)
  • 2 cups pasta, cooked slightly under al dente
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet until no longer pink.
  2. Add diced onion and garlic; cook until softened.
  3. Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and seasonings; let simmer 5–7 minutes.
  4. Cook pasta until slightly underdone and drain well.
  5. Layer pasta in a casserole dish, top with beef mixture, then spread sour cream.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top.
  7. Bake at 350°F for 25–30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
