Ingredients
-
1 lb ground beef (lean)
-
3 cups broccoli florets
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
-
1/4 cup soy sauce
-
2 tbsp hoisin sauce
-
1 tsp cornstarch (optional for thicker sauce)
-
1 tsp brown sugar or honey
-
1 tbsp sesame oil
-
Red pepper flakes or chili paste (optional for heat)
-
2 tbsp water or broth
-
Sesame seeds (for garnish)
-
Green onions (for garnish)
Instructions
-
Cut broccoli into florets and slice any other vegetables you wish to add (like bell peppers or carrots). Mince garlic and ginger.
-
Heat a pan over medium-high heat. Add ground beef, cooking until browned. Break apart the beef as it cooks, and drain excess fat.
-
Add sesame oil, garlic, and ginger to the pan. Sauté for 1 minute.
-
Add broccoli and any additional vegetables. Stir-fry until the broccoli is tender but still crisp.
-
Pour in soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and water or broth. Stir to combine.
-
For a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with a bit of water and add to the pan. Let it simmer until the sauce thickens.
-
Serve over rice or noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
Notes
For extra heat, add red pepper flakes or chili paste.
You can swap ground beef for ground turkey, chicken, or tofu for different protein options.
This dish works well with steamed rice, noodles, or cauliflower rice for a low-carb version.
