Grilled carrots coated in a buttery honey brown sugar glaze create a sweet and smoky side dish perfect for holidays or summer grilling.

- 1 pound carrots
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon orange juice (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat grill to 450°F with direct and indirect heat zones.
- Wash and trim carrots, slicing thick carrots lengthwise.
- Toss carrots with olive oil.
- Place carrots on grill over direct heat and rotate every few minutes.
- Cook for about 12 to 15 minutes until fork tender.
- In a saucepan combine butter, brown sugar, honey, and salt over medium heat.
- Whisk until the sugar dissolves and the glaze becomes smooth.
- Add orange juice and cinnamon if desired.
- Brush carrots with glaze just before removing from grill.
- Cook one more minute then remove and brush again with glaze before serving.
Notes
- Rotate carrots around the grill since some spots cook hotter.
- Move carrots to indirect heat if they cook too quickly.
- Brush glaze while hot for best coating.
