Description
Bright, chewy, glowing rice krispies treats made with tonic water and neon coloring. Perfect for blacklight parties and fun science-themed desserts.
Ingredients
6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
4 cups mini marshmallows
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/4 cup tonic water (with quinine)
Neon food coloring (optional)
Instructions
1. Grease a 9×13 pan or silicone molds and set aside.
2. Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat.
3. Add marshmallows and stir until smooth.
4. Remove from heat and mix in tonic water quickly.
5. Add neon food coloring to achieve your desired glow.
6. Stir in the cereal until evenly coated.
7. Press mixture into the pan with greased parchment.
8. Let set for 1–2 hours, then cut into squares.
9. Place near a blacklight to reveal the glow.
Notes
The glow appears only under UV blacklight.
Neon green and orange colors glow strongest.
Work quickly; the mixture sets fast.
