Description

This creamy Garlic Parmesan Pasta is made in one pot in just 20 minutes. Angel hair cooks in a buttery garlic cream sauce for an easy weeknight meal or side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, finely grated
  • 3 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 8 ounces angel hair pasta
  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Grate the Parmesan cheese and let it come to room temperature.
  2. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat in a large skillet.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 to 2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add chicken broth and optional seasonings, then slowly stir in the milk and bring to a boil.
  5. Add angel hair pasta and submerge as it softens.
  6. Simmer for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  7. Reduce heat to low and add remaining tablespoon of butter, tossing to coat.
  8. Turn off heat and gradually stir in Parmesan cheese until smooth.
  9. Let rest briefly until sauce thickens, then garnish with fresh parsley and serve.

Notes

  1. Make sure the liquid is boiling before adding the pasta.
  2. Use freshly grated Parmesan for best melting results.
  3. Turn off heat before adding cheese to prevent grainy texture.
  4. Add cheese gradually while stirring continuously.
  5. Sauce thickens as it stands and pasta absorbs liquid.
