Ingredients
Scale
- 6 boneless skinless chicken thighs
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce reserved for cooking
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 teaspoons garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil or avocado oil
- Kosher salt to taste
- Ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Place chicken thighs in a bowl and coat with 1/4 cup soy sauce then let marinate while preparing other ingredients
- Mix butter and minced garlic together in a small bowl and set aside
- Heat flat top or skillet to medium high heat and spread olive oil across the surface
- Place marinated chicken thighs on the hot surface and season with salt and pepper
- Cook for 2 to 3 minutes then drizzle a little soy sauce and add about 1 tablespoon garlic butter
- Flip the chicken, season the other side with salt and pepper and add remaining garlic butter and soy sauce
- Cook while turning occasionally until internal temperature reaches 162°F
- Transfer chicken to a plate and allow to rest until temperature rises to 165°F then slice and serve
Notes
- Remove chicken from heat around 162°F since the temperature will continue to rise while resting
- Allowing the chicken to rest keeps it juicy and tender
- Great for tacos, salads, burrito bowls, and meal prep containers
