Description

French Onion Beef Casserole made with ground beef, egg noodles, cream of mushroom soup, and French onion dip for a rich, comforting family dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 ounces dried egg noodles
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 2 cans condensed cream of mushroom soup (10.75 ounces each)
  • 1 jar Lay’s French Onion Dip (15 ounces)
  • 1/2 cup French’s fried onions
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook egg noodles according to package directions and drain well.
  3. Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat, season with salt and pepper, and drain excess grease.
  4. Stir cream of mushroom soup and French onion dip into the beef until combined.
  5. Gently fold cooked noodles into the beef mixture.
  6. Transfer mixture to prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  7. Sprinkle fried onions evenly over the top.
  8. Bake uncovered for 20 minutes until hot and bubbly.
  9. Serve warm and garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

  1. Do not overcook the noodles, as they will continue to soften while baking.
  2. Drain the beef thoroughly to prevent excess grease in the casserole.
  3. This dish can be assembled ahead of time and baked when ready to serve.
  4. Leftovers keep well refrigerated for up to three days.
