Description

Flavorful and fun French Dip Sliders made with roast beef, melted cheese, and buttery rolls, served with au jus for dipping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 medium onion thinly sliced
  • 2 teaspoons fresh thyme minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 12 sweet rolls
  • 10 slices provolone cheese
  • 14 ounces sliced deli roast beef
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons dried onion soup mix
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix
  • 3 cups water
  • Fresh chopped parsley optional

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a skillet and cook onions until soft and golden.
  2. Stir in thyme, salt, and pepper, then set aside.
  3. Slice rolls horizontally and place bottoms in a baking dish.
  4. Layer cheese, roast beef, onions, remaining cheese, and roll tops.
  5. Brush with butter and onion soup mix, then bake covered and uncovered until golden.
  6. Prepare au jus and serve sliders warm with dipping sauce.

Notes

  1. Dried herbs can replace fresh thyme using half the amount.
  2. Sweet rolls work best, but any slider buns can be used.
  3. Provolone or mozzarella both melt well.
  4. Au jus adds extra flavor but is optional.
  5. Sliders can be frozen after baking.
