Description

Crockpot Hamburger Potato Casserole is a comforting, easy-to-make slow cooker meal that layers tender ground beef, thinly sliced potatoes, and melted cheddar cheese with a creamy mushroom sauce.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb ground beef

45 medium russet or Yukon gold potatoes, thinly sliced

1 medium onion, chopped

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

1/2 cup milk

1/2 tsp garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley or chives for garnish

Instructions

1. Brown the beef and onion in a skillet until no pink remains.

2. Wash and thinly slice potatoes to 1/8 inch.

3. Layer half the potatoes, beef, and cheese in the crockpot.

4. Mix soup, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper; pour evenly over layers.

5. Repeat layers and cover.

6. Cook on low 6–8 hours until potatoes are tender.

7. Top with remaining cheese 15 minutes before serving and garnish with herbs.

Notes

Use lean beef for less grease.

Slice potatoes evenly for consistent cooking.

Add a splash of milk mid-cook if the casserole looks dry.
