Description

Crock pot cajun chicken pasta is creamy and delicious with a little heat, made easily in the slow cooker for a comforting family dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds chicken breasts
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 pound penne pasta
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Add the chicken, heavy whipping cream, chicken broth, butter, garlic powder and Cajun seasoning into a 6 quart crock pot.
  2. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours or on high for 2 to 3 hours until the chicken reaches 165 degrees F.
  3. Remove the chicken and shred or dice into large pieces.
  4. Whisk the sauce in the crock pot until combined.
  5. Return the chicken to the crock pot and stir in the uncooked penne pasta.
  6. Cover and cook on high for 20 to 30 minutes until the pasta is tender.
  7. Stir in the Parmesan cheese and cover for 5 minutes until melted.
  8. Serve warm.

Notes

  1. Reduce the Cajun seasoning by half if sensitive to spice.
  2. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  3. Add a splash of broth or cream when reheating to maintain creaminess.
