Description
Crock Pot Angel Chicken is a simple dinner made with tender chicken breasts simmered in a creamy, Italian-inspired sauce and served over delicate angel hair pasta.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1–2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 10.5 ounces cream of chicken soup
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3/4 cup chicken broth
- 1 (0.7-ounce) packet dry Italian dressing mix
- 16 ounces angel hair pasta
- Chopped fresh parsley, cracked pepper, or grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, add oil, and season chicken with salt and pepper.
- Sear chicken on both sides for 2–3 minutes until lightly golden, then remove from heat.
- In a bowl, whisk cream cheese and butter until smooth.
- Add cream of chicken soup, garlic, chicken broth, and Italian dressing mix; whisk to combine.
- Spray the crock pot with nonstick spray and place chicken inside.
- Pour sauce over chicken, cover, and cook on low for 3–4 hours until chicken reaches 165°F.
- Cook angel hair pasta according to package directions and drain.
- Serve chicken whole or shredded over pasta, topped with optional garnishes.
Notes
- Use low-sodium soup and broth if sensitive to salt.
- Cooking on low produces the most tender chicken.
- Always verify doneness by internal temperature rather than time alone.
Food safety: if you cook the chicken yourself, make sure it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C), as recommended by the USDA and Health Canada.
