Description
Crispy Chinese Honey Garlic Chicken made with golden fried chicken tossed in a sweet, sticky garlic glaze. Perfect for takeout-style meals at home.
Ingredients
1 pound boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
Oil for frying (canola or neutral)
2 egg whites
1 tablespoon cornstarch
Pinch of salt
4 tablespoons honey
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon black pepper
Sesame seeds
Green onion
Instructions
1. Whisk egg whites, cornstarch, and salt. Coat chicken and marinate 15–20 minutes.
2. Mix honey, garlic, soy sauce, and pepper. Set aside.
3. Heat 1 inch of oil to 350°F and fry chicken in batches 4–5 minutes.
4. Simmer sauce until glossy, then toss chicken to coat.
5. Garnish with sesame and green onion. Serve warm.
Notes
Add extra garlic for stronger flavor.
Use thighs for juicier texture.
Toss chicken in glaze right before serving.
