Description

Crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside, these cheese jalapeno balls are the perfect blend of creamy cheese and a zesty jalapeno kick. Whether for a party or a simple snack, they’re packed with flavor and are a hit every time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

  • 34 jalapenos, finely chopped (seeds removed for less heat)

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (panko for extra crunch)

  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • 1/2 cup flour

  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola oil recommended)

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, chopped jalapenos, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.

  • Shape the cheese mixture into bite-sized balls, about 1 tablespoon each.

  • Place the flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs in separate bowls for coating.

  • Roll each ball first in the flour, then dip into the egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.

  • Place the coated balls on a tray and refrigerate for 30 minutes to firm up.

  • Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pan to 350–360°F (175–180°C).

  • Fry the balls in batches for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

  • Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

For a milder version, remove all seeds from the jalapenos and use less of them.

You can also air fry or bake these for a healthier version.

Use panko breadcrumbs for the crispiest coating.
