Description
Cream Cheese and Jam Cracker Snacks are quick no-cook cracker sandwiches made with buttery crackers, smooth cream cheese, and fruity jam. They are easy to pack for school lunches, snack trays, or after-school bites.
Ingredients
Scale
- 24 RITZ crackers, or 2 crackers per snack
- 6 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
- 4 tablespoons strawberry jam, raspberry jam, grape jam, apricot jam, or any favorite flavor
- Optional: whole wheat crackers for a heartier bite
- Optional: everything-flavored crackers with veggie cream cheese for a savory twist
Instructions
- Set the cream cheese on the counter for about 10 minutes so it spreads smoothly.
- Line up the crackers in pairs on a clean plate or cutting board.
- Stir the jam briefly so it becomes smooth and easy to spoon.
- Spread about 1/2 tablespoon cream cheese onto the flat side of one cracker.
- Spoon about 1 teaspoon jam over the cream cheese, keeping the filling slightly away from the edges.
- Top with a second cracker, flat side down, and press gently to make a sandwich.
- Repeat with the remaining crackers, cream cheese, and jam.
- Serve right away, or pack in a lunch container with parchment between layers.
Notes
- Use softened cream cheese so the crackers do not break while spreading.
- Keep the filling layers thin if packing these snacks for school.
- Use thicker jam or preserves for less mess in lunch containers.
- For a savory version, use everything crackers and veggie cream cheese.
- These snacks taste best the day they are assembled.
