- 16 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 ounce dry ranch dressing mix
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
- 1/3 cup thinly sliced green onions
- 2 1/2 cups cooked, shredded boneless chicken breast
- 12 ounces cooked, crumbled bacon
- 2 1/2 cups shredded mild cheddar cheese, divided
- 1 package of 12 sweet Hawaiian rolls
- 6 tablespoons salted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh chives
- Nonstick cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly spray a 9-by-13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- Place the cream cheese in a heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat and stir often until melted.
- Add the ranch dressing mix, onion powder, and black pepper. Stir until combined, then remove the pot from the heat.
- Stir in the green onions, shredded chicken, crumbled bacon, and 1 cup of cheddar cheese.
- Keep the Hawaiian rolls connected and slice the entire slab horizontally.
- Place the bottom half of the rolls in the prepared baking dish.
- Spread the chicken mixture evenly over the bottom rolls.
- Sprinkle the remaining 1 1/2 cups of cheddar evenly over the filling.
- Place the connected top rolls over the cheese.
- Brush the melted butter evenly over the roll tops.
- Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese and chopped chives over the butter.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for another 5 to 8 minutes, until the tops are golden and the cheese has melted.
- Rest the sliders for 5 minutes before cutting along the roll lines and serving.
Notes
- Keep the Hawaiian rolls connected while slicing and assembling them.
- Rotisserie chicken can replace home-cooked chicken.
- Spicy or zesty ranch seasoning can replace regular ranch mix.
- Store cooled leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat covered in a 325°F oven, then uncover briefly to refresh the tops.
- Freeze the chicken filling separately from the rolls for up to 3 months.
