Description

This fall-inspired grilled cheese combines buttery cinnamon-sugar crusted bread with creamy brie and crisp apple slices for the ultimate sweet-and-savory sandwich. The brie melts into silky perfection, while the apples stay tart and crunchy. It’s cozy, elegant, and irresistibly good — perfect for chilly afternoons or as a five-star snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 teaspoon (5 g) ground cinnamon

  • 2 teaspoons (8 g) granulated sugar

  • 4 slices thick-cut white bread

  • 1½ tablespoons (21 g) unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 Honeycrisp apple (or similar), thinly sliced

  • 4 oz (113 g) brie cheese, thinly sliced

Instructions

  • Mix Cinnamon Sugar: In a small bowl, stir together the cinnamon and sugar.

  • Prepare Bread: Butter one side of each bread slice. Generously sprinkle the buttered sides with the cinnamon sugar mix.

  • Season Apples: Toss thin apple slices in any remaining cinnamon sugar.

  • Assemble Sandwiches: Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, on a heated grill pan or skillet. Top each with sliced brie and cinnamon-coated apple slices. Cover with the remaining bread, buttered side up.

  • Grill: Cook over medium-low heat for about 2 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until golden brown and the brie is melted.

  • Serve: Slice and enjoy warm, optionally with a drizzle of honey or fig jam.

Notes

Brie rind is optional — it melts well either way.

Honeycrisp apples provide ideal crunch and tartness, but Fuji or Gala are great alternatives.

For extra indulgence, serve with honey or fig jam.

Avoid microwaving leftovers; reheat in a skillet or toaster oven to retain crispiness.
