Description
These Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars are perfectly soft and chewy and bake in one pan for an easy dessert.
Ingredients
12 tablespoons unsalted butter – melted and slightly cooled
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup light brown sugar – packed
1 large egg
1 egg yolk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups + 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 325°F. Line a 13×9 pan with foil and spray.
2. Whisk butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar.
3. Mix in egg, egg yolk, and vanilla.
4. Whisk flour, salt, and baking soda separately.
5. Fold dry ingredients and chocolate chips gently.
6. Press dough into pan.
7. Bake 23-26 minutes until lightly golden.
8. Cool completely, lift with foil, and cut into squares.
Notes
Use chocolate chunks, white chocolate, butterscotch chips, nuts, or raisins for variations.
Store 3-4 days at room temperature or freeze up to 2 months.
