Description

Crispy Chicken Caesar Sandwich with golden fried chicken, creamy Caesar dressing, and crisp romaine inside a crusty baguette. Perfect for lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Caesar Dressing:

½ cup full-fat mayonnaise

3 tablespoon Greek yogurt

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

2 tablespoon lemon juice

¼ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

12 garlic cloves minced

¼ teaspoon black pepper

Pinch sea salt

Chicken:

5 chicken cutlets

Sea salt to taste

Ground black pepper to taste

Oil for frying

Flour Mixture:

⅓ cup all-purpose flour

½ teaspoon salt

¾ teaspoon smoked paprika

Egg Mixture:

2 eggs

¼ teaspoon salt

Breadcrumb Mixture:

¾ cup panko crumbs

¼ cup breadcrumbs

1 teaspoon dried parsley

½ teaspoon ground black pepper

½ teaspoon sea salt

½ teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon garlic powder

¼ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Assembly:

2 romaine hearts chopped

12 French baguettes

Freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

1. Prepare the Caesar dressing by mixing all dressing ingredients until smooth. Toss 4–5 tablespoons with romaine and refrigerate the remaining dressing and salad separately.

2. Pound the chicken cutlets to even thickness and season with salt and pepper.

3. Set up a breading station: flour mixture in one dish, whisked eggs with salt in another, and breadcrumb mixture in the third.

4. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Dredge each cutlet in flour, then egg, then firmly press into the breadcrumb mixture.

5. Fry chicken until golden and crispy, about 4–5 minutes per side. Transfer to a wire rack.

6. Slice baguettes into portions and cut open. Spread reserved Caesar dressing, add a crispy chicken cutlet, romaine salad, and extra Parmesan. Close and serve immediately.

Notes

To prevent sogginess, assemble the sandwich only when ready to eat.

Toast the baguette lightly for extra crunch.

Chicken cutlets can be air-fried or baked for a lighter version.

Breaded chicken can be frozen before frying for quick future meals.
