Description

This dairy free Cherry Sherbet delivers bright cherry flavor and a creamy frozen texture with simple ingredients.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar or sugar blend
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 small package cherry gelatin
  • 1 cup fresh cherry juice
  • 2 cups almond milk
  • Fresh cherries for garnish
  • Mint leaves for serving if desired

Instructions

  1. Wash and pit fresh cherries before juicing them.
  2. Combine sugar and water in a saucepan and bring to a light boil.
  3. Stir in the cherry gelatin until completely dissolved.
  4. Remove from heat and mix in the fresh cherry juice.
  5. Refrigerate the mixture for 30 minutes until chilled.
  6. Whisk in the almond milk after chilling.
  7. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to manufacturer instructions.
  8. Transfer the sherbet into a freezer-safe container.
  9. Freeze for 2 additional hours before serving.

Notes

  1. Use ripe dark cherries for deeper flavor.
  2. Keep the mixture cold before churning.
