Description
Refreshing Cherry Iced Tea made with black tea and homemade cherry pie syrup for a fruity summer drink.
Ingredients

- 1 cup frozen pitted cherries
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- Pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon butter extract
- 1/2 teaspoon cake batter extract optional
- 2 cups unsweetened black iced tea
- Fresh cherries for garnish
- Ice for serving
Instructions
- Add cherries, sugar, water, and salt to a saucepan over medium heat.
- Cook for 10 minutes while mashing cherries gently as they soften.
- Strain the syrup through a fine mesh strainer and discard solids.
- Stir lemon juice, vanilla extract, butter extract, and cake batter extract into syrup.
- Allow the syrup to cool completely.
- Fill serving glasses with ice.
- Pour black tea into glasses and stir in cherry syrup.
- Garnish with fresh cherries and serve immediately.
Notes
- Use strong black tea for the best flavor balance.
- Store leftover syrup in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- Serve ice cold for the most refreshing taste.
