Soft Cherry Cinnamon Rolls filled with homemade cherry filling and topped with cream cheese frosting.
Ingredients

- 3 1/2 cups frozen cherries
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 4 1/2 cups bread flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter for frosting
- 3 ounces cream cheese
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 to 3 tablespoons whole milk
Instructions
- Make the cherry filling and chill completely.
- Activate the yeast in warm water with a pinch of sugar.
- Mix milk, eggs, sugar, flour, and salt into the yeast mixture.
- Knead in butter until smooth and elastic.
- Let the dough rise until doubled in size.
- Roll dough into a rectangle and spread chilled filling evenly.
- Roll tightly into a log and slice into 12 rolls.
- Arrange rolls in a greased baking pan and let rise again.
- Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 to 35 minutes.
- Beat frosting ingredients until smooth and spread over warm rolls.
Notes
- Chill the filling completely before using.
- Use bread flour for the softest texture.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to four days.
