Description

Cheesy Taco Sticks are crispy tortilla rolls stuffed with seasoned beef, beans, cheese, and fresh toppings, baked or air-fried until golden. They’re a fun mashup of tacos and finger food—perfect as a quick dinner, party snack, or game-day appetizer. Easy to customize, kid-approved, and dangerously addictive.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 flour tortillas (or gluten-free wraps)

  • 1 cup (115 g) shredded cheddar cheese (or dairy-free alternative)

  • 1 cup (225 g) cooked ground beef or turkey (or plant-based crumbles)

  • ½ cup (130 g) refried beans (or black beans)

  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade: chili powder, cumin, garlic powder)

  • ½ cup (90 g) diced tomatoes

  • ¼ cup (15 g) chopped fresh cilantro

  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) olive oil (for brushing)

  • Salsa and sour cream (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Cook the filling: Brown ground beef or turkey with taco seasoning. Stir in refried beans for a creamy texture.

  2. Assemble: Lay tortillas flat, spread filling in the center, and top with cheese, tomatoes, and cilantro.

  3. Roll: Roll each tortilla tightly into a log and brush with olive oil.

  4. Cook:

    • Air fryer: Preheat to 375°F (190°C) and cook 8–10 minutes until golden.

    • Oven: Preheat to 400°F (200°C) and bake 12–15 minutes until crisp.

  5. Serve: Slice if desired, and serve hot with salsa, sour cream, or guacamole.

Notes

Don’t overfill tortillas—keeps them from bursting.

Press edges down before baking to help seal.

Use parchment in the air fryer for easier cleanup.

A little cheese under and over the filling acts like “glue.”

Freeze unbaked sticks for later and bake directly from frozen.
