Description

Cheeseburger Sliders with Hawaiian Rolls are gooey, cheesy mini burgers baked to golden perfection. Juicy beef, melty cheddar, and soft Hawaiian rolls are topped with a buttery mustard glaze for an irresistible game-day or party appetizer. Ready in 30 minutes, these sliders are the ultimate crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale

Beef Mixture

  • 2 tsp olive oil (10 ml)

  • 1 lb ground beef (10–20% fat) (450 g)

  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped

  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise (30 g)

  • 2 tbsp BBQ sauce or ketchup (30 g)

  • ½ tsp garlic powder (2 g)

  • 1 tsp kosher salt (6 g)

  • ½ tsp black pepper (2 g)

Topping for Rolls

  • 2 tbsp butter (28 g)

  • 2 tsp Dijon mustard (10 g)

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar or maple syrup (12 g)

  • 2 tsp sesame seeds or Everything Bagel Seasoning (8 g)

Rolls and Cheese

  • 12 Hawaiian rolls (1 package)

  • 8 slices cheddar cheese (170 g) or 68 oz shredded (170225 g)

  • 1 tbsp butter, softened (15 g), for pan

Instructions

1. Preheat Oven & Prep Pan
Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Butter or line your baking dish for easy cleanup.

2. Cook Beef Mixture
Heat olive oil in a skillet. Sauté onions for 5–6 minutes until golden. Add ground beef and cook until no pink remains, about 3 minutes. Drain grease. Stir in mayonnaise, BBQ sauce or ketchup, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning.

3. Assemble Sliders
Slice Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally (keep connected). Place bottom half in prepared pan. Layer with half the cheese, all the beef mixture, and the remaining cheese. Top with the upper half of rolls.

4. Make Glaze
Melt butter, Dijon mustard, and brown sugar together (about 25 seconds in the microwave). Brush tops of rolls. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.

5. Bake
Bake uncovered for 12–15 minutes until cheese melts and rolls turn golden. Slice into individual sliders and serve hot.

Notes

Don’t skip the buttery-mustard glaze—it adds irresistible flavor.

Use medium-fat beef for juiciness.

Make ahead by assembling the sliders, covering, and refrigerating for up to 24 hours before baking.

For clean cuts, use a serrated knife.

Variations: add bacon, pickles, or jalapeños for extra flair.
