Description

Fresh caramelized peaches cooked in butter, maple syrup, lemon juice, and vanilla for an easy summer dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 fresh peaches, sliced into wedges
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Wash and slice the peaches into wedges.
  2. Optional: blanch and peel the peaches before slicing.
  3. Add peaches, lemon juice, maple syrup, and salt to a bowl and toss gently.
  4. Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  5. Add the peach mixture to the skillet in an even layer.
  6. Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until caramelized.
  7. Stir in vanilla extract and cook for 1 additional minute.
  8. Remove from heat and serve warm.

Notes

  1. Use slightly firm peaches for the best texture.
  2. Do not cook over high heat or the syrup may burn.
  3. Serve warm with ice cream, yogurt, pancakes, or oatmeal.
