Description

Cute edible decoration made with mini vanilla wafers and chocolate kisses.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 11 ounces chocolate kisses (any flavor)

  • 75 mini vanilla wafers (about half of an 11-ounce package)

  • 1 cup baking chips (any flavor, divided)

  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil or cooking oil

Instructions

  • Unwrap as many kisses as you would like to make as candies. A full 11-ounce bag will make about 75 cookies.

  • Remove cookies from the box, setting aside as many unbroken cookies as you have kisses.

  • In a small bowl, add half of the baking chips and the coconut oil.

  • Microwave for 30 seconds at a time, stirring between cycles until melted.

  • Using a toothpick or thin chopstick, add melted baking chips to the flat side of a cookie and attach the flat end of a kiss.

  • Set the cookie, kiss-side up, and allow to cool until the chocolate sets.

  • Re-melt the baking chips if they harden.

  • Add a small amount of melted chocolate to the opposite cookie side and attach an un-melted baking chip as the stem.

  • Lay the candy acorn on its side and allow to cool fully.

  • Once cool, serve or use as decorations.

Notes

Full-sized or mini chocolate chips can be used for the stem; regular-sized butterscotch chips also work.

Avoid adding too much chocolate to the stem side or it may slide off.

Allow the kiss side to set before attaching the stem.
